The royal city of Loches was for a time at the heart of French power, when it was the home of King Charles VII, who was very attached to it. Since then, the château of Loches, with its keep and royal dwelling, has been a historic medieval site not to be missed if your travels take you to this side of the Indre.
The royal town of Loches is a delightful place to stroll around. Its medieval gardens are a pleasant change from the formal gardens of Renaissance châteaux. The Château de Loches, surrounded by its royal city, is a great way to take a break from your stay and discover another part of our region's history: the one that saw the English repelled by Joan of Arc. 
 
 This ticket does not include audio guides.

The castle is open every day of the year, except on January 1 and December 25.

The last ticket is sold 30 minutes before closing.
