The Royal Château of Blois is the gateway to the châteaux of the Loire Valley. It is the castle with the strongest historical imprint in the Loire Valley, which allows visitors to rediscover 3 emblematic periods in French history. Blois has welcomed no fewer than 7 kings and 10 queens to its castle, where many legendary intrigues took place. To immortalise their visits to Blois, Louis XII, François I and Gaston d'Orléans took the opportunity to remodel the castle, each leaving a wing in their own image.
With these mixtures, the Château de Blois represents four different architectural styles: the medieval style, traces of which remain in the ramparts and certain towers, the Gothic style of the Louis XII wing, the Renaissance style of the François I wing and the classical style found in the Gaston d'Orléans wing.
The Château de Blois is a wellspring of knowledge, allowing visitors to learn about French history in a less conventional way.

 Histopad

At the heart of the Renaissance town of Amboise and its charming cobbled streets lies the Château Royal d'Amboise. Charles VIII was the real architect when he chose to transform this medieval residence into a Gothic château. François I, the great Renaissance king, spent much of his childhood here under the protection of his uncle Louis XII and his wife Anne of Brittany.
The famous Italian genius and faithful friend of Francis I, Leonardo da Vinci, is buried in the château's chapel, a stone's throw from his final resting place at Le Clos-Lucé. From its terraces, the Château Royal d'Amboise offers exceptional views over the Loire and the town.

!! The Saint Hubert chapel, where Leonardo da Vinci's tomb is located, is currently undergoing renovation work, so it is not possible to visit the interior.

This ticket does not include guided tours.
